Terms of Service
Last updated 17 August 2026
These terms apply to the CoachFlat iPhone app and coachflat.app. You agree to them when you create an account, and by continuing to use CoachFlat.
What CoachFlat is
CoachFlat is software that lets a personal trainer write training programs, assign them to clients, and see what those clients logged. It is a tool for coaches and their clients to organise training between themselves.
What CoachFlat is not
CoachFlat is not a medical device and does not provide medical, health, or nutritional advice. Nothing in the app is a diagnosis, treatment, or professional recommendation from us. Training programs in the app are written by the coach a client chose — not by CoachFlat. Exercise carries risk of injury; consult a qualified professional before starting a training program, and stop if something hurts.
CoachFlat is also not a party to the coaching relationship. The agreement to train, what it costs, refunds, scheduling, and the quality of the coaching are between the coach and the client.
Accounts
You need an account to use the app. Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account. Give us accurate information, and don't impersonate someone else. You must be at least 13 years old.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms or is used unlawfully.
Coach subscription
Coaching up to 3 clients is free. Beyond that requires CoachFlat Pro at $24.99 per month, purchased through Apple's in-app purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically each month unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings — not in CoachFlat, as Apple controls the billing.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple under their policies; we can't issue them ourselves.
If a subscription lapses while you have more than 3 clients, your existing data is not deleted, but you'll need to reduce your roster or resubscribe to add more.
Payments between clients and coaches
Coaches may collect payments from their clients through Stripe Connect. Those payments go to the coach's own Stripe account. CoachFlat takes no percentage and no per-transaction fee, and never holds, receives, or controls the funds at any point. Stripe's fees and Stripe's terms apply to those transactions.
The coach is the merchant of record. The coach — not CoachFlat — sells the coaching service, is the seller in the transaction with their client, and is responsible for delivering what they agreed to deliver. CoachFlat provides the software the two of them use; we are not a party to that sale, not an agent or broker for either side, and not a payment processor.
Because we neither sell the service nor hold the money, we cannot reverse a payment, issue a refund on a coach's behalf, or arbitrate a dispute between a coach and a client. Refunds and chargebacks are settled from the coach's own Stripe balance. A client who wants a refund should ask their coach; a client who disputes a charge deals with their card issuer and with the coach, in the same way as any other purchase from an independent business.
Coaches are responsible for their own legal and tax obligations arising from money they collect — including any sales tax, VAT, GST or income tax, invoicing, and any licences or registrations their business requires. CoachFlat does not calculate, collect, withhold, or remit tax on a coach's behalf, and does not provide tax, legal, or accounting advice.
Nothing in the app is an endorsement, vetting, certification, or guarantee of any coach, their qualifications, or the results of their coaching. Clients choose their own coach.
Your content
Programs you write and workouts you log remain yours. You give us permission to store and display that content as needed to run the service — for example, showing a client the program their coach assigned. We don't claim ownership of it and we don't use it to train anything or sell it.
Don't upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or abusive. We may remove content that breaks this rule.
Availability
We aim to keep CoachFlat running, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CoachFlat is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or personal injury arising from use of the app or from any training program delivered through it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
For the avoidance of doubt, that limit is measured against what you paid CoachFlat — the subscription, if any. It does not include money a client paid a coach, because we never received it.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Apple
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for CoachFlat. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price, where applicable; beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use CoachFlat after that means you accept the new terms.
